Independent Watchmaker from Zurich.

Marc Jenni grew up in a family of watchmakers in Zurich. His father owned a watch store and represented the second generation of watchmakers in the family. Despite this heritage, Marc Jenni did not simply want to follow in his family's footsteps and become another watchmaker. After carefully considering his own professional path, he chose watchmaking and began his apprenticeship with renowned independent watchmaker Paul Gerber in Zurich. There, he built the technical expertise and craftsmanship that would form the foundation of his career.

After completing his apprenticeship, Marc Jenni joined Tiffany & Co., where he spent more than a decade working for the renowned American jeweller. During this time, he gained invaluable experience within the international world of fine watchmaking. Those years shaped his understanding of quality, precision, and design, providing the ideal foundation for his later transition into independent watchmaking.

In 2008, Marc Jenni began developing his own watch concept. His early ideas and engineering studies led to the creation of the first Prologue in 2010. Rather than following established conventions, he explored new ways of combining time display with innovative mechanical construction. His creations are defined by the interaction of technical functionality, independent design, and a fascination with visible mechanical solutions.

With models such as the JJJ and the Arch, Marc Jenni continued to develop his own distinctive design language. His watches deliberately balance modernity and classicism while challenging conventional ideas of how a mechanical watch should look and function. Geometric forms, unconventional displays, and original constructions are never used for their own sake—they are the result of an independent exploration of watchmaking itself.

Alongside his own creations, Marc Jenni works as an independent watchmaker and movement engineer, collaborating on exceptional watchmaking projects with a variety of partners. These include the Timeburner with Miki Eleta, Armando Legin Inveniō, and the revival and continued development of Carl Suchy & Söhne. In each collaboration, he combines technical feasibility, movement engineering, and traditional Swiss craftsmanship with the creative vision of independent designers. For Marc Jenni, watchmaking is not about preserving the past, but about continually discovering new ways to make mechanical time visible, tangible, and truly original.
