COMPLETE
SERVICE
or
PARTIAL REPAIR
Upon receipt of the timepiece in our workshop, an initial technical assessment is carried out. Function, overall condition and any irregularities are systematically analysed. Based on this evaluation, we usually prepare a quotation and recommend either a full service or a targeted partial repair.
The condition of the movement and the technical necessity of each intervention determine the scope of work. Every watch is assessed individually to ensure a reliable, transparent and long-term solution.
OUR
SERVICE
OFFERING
Our work is not based on standard procedures, but on the individual needs of our clients and the specific requirements of each timepiece.
BATTERY CHANGE
and / or
WATER RESISTANCE
TESTING
As part of a quick service, the watch is carefully opened, the battery replaced and its basic function checked. Key components are inspected and the overall condition of the timepiece is assessed. Water resistance can also be tested using appropriate measuring equipment.
If the watch continues to show irregularities after the battery replacement or if water resistance is no longer ensured, further servicing or a targeted repair will be recommended based on the technical evaluation.
RESTORATION
Upon request, we carry out aesthetic restoration work. Cases, metal bracelets or dials are cleaned, restored or partially renewed depending on their condition, while preserving the original appearance and character of the watch.
STRAP
REPLACEMENT
A damaged or worn strap can be professionally replaced. Various models and materials are selected to match the watch and are carefully fitted with attention to fit, comfort and functionality.
Our way of working at a glance
Repairing a watch requires far more than experience – it demands technical understanding, precise workflows, and the right tools. In our workshop in Zurich, modern infrastructure, specialized machinery, and in-depth watchmaking expertise come together.
Each timepiece is individually assessed and handled with the utmost care, tailored to its construction, condition, and technical requirements.
01 – Analysis & Diagnosis
Every repair begins with a careful analysis of the movement. Function, rate performance, and mechanical components are systematically examined.
Using timing machines, measuring instruments, and optical magnification systems, deviations and wear can be identified with precision. This diagnosis forms the basis for all subsequent steps.
02 – Cost Estimate
Based on the technical analysis, we provide a transparent cost estimate. It includes the necessary work as well as an assessment of the condition and the expected interventions.
We only begin the repair after your approval, ensuring you retain full control over the scope and costs at all times.
03 – Disassembly & Cleaning
For proper servicing, the movement is completely disassembled. Each component is inspected and cleaned in specialized equipment to remove old oils and residues.
The cleaning process is carried out in several stages using appropriate solutions to eliminate even the finest particles and ensure optimal conditions for precise operation.
04 – Repair & Replacement Parts
Defective or worn components are identified and either replaced or professionally restored. Both original spare parts and carefully selected components are used.
This work requires the highest level of precision and a deep understanding of the movement’s construction, especially in complex mechanical watches.
05 – Reassembly & Regulation
After cleaning and repair, the movement is carefully reassembled. Lubrication, assembly, and adjustment are carried out according to technical standards using appropriate oils and tools.
The watch is then regulated in multiple positions to ensure the most consistent timekeeping possible.
06 – Inspection & Testing
Once the work is completed, a comprehensive final inspection is performed. Rate performance, functionality, and reliability are tested over a defined period.
The watch is only returned to the customer once all technical requirements have been fully met.
Specialization & Infrastructure
Our workshop is equipped with modern technology and dedicated to the repair of high-quality timepieces. Four out of our five team members are trained watchmakers – a specialization that has become rare today.
We exclusively carry out service and repair work on watches manufactured in Switzerland.
Exceptions may apply – we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

QUICK-SERVICE
As part of a quick service, the watch is carefully opened, the battery replaced and its basic function checked. A visual inspection and an initial technical assessment are also carried out.
Water resistance is then tested using appropriate equipment. Watches undergo model-specific testing procedures.
We use devices such as the Witschi Proofmaster-M, allowing dry testing of the case between 1 and 10 bar.
A 12-month warranty is provided on the battery. If irregularities are detected, further servicing or repair is recommended.
WATER RESISTANCE
TESTING
The water resistance of a watch case is tested using dedicated equipment under defined pressure conditions. For higher ranges, we use systems such as the Roxer Natador 125, simulating pressures up to 125 bar.
Testing is performed under realistic conditions to assess resistance to moisture.
Water resistance ratings refer to static test conditions and do not directly reflect real-life use.
For daily use, lower resistance levels are sufficient, while water activities require watches specifically designed for higher pressure levels.
COMPLETE SERVICE
A complete service includes the careful disassembly of the movement as well as a thorough optical and mechanical inspection of all components. Clearances and tolerances are checked and adjusted, while worn or damaged parts are repaired or replaced.
All components are then cleaned, the movement is reassembled, properly lubricated and precisely regulated. The rate is fine-tuned and all functions are checked.
In addition, the case, metal bracelet and clasp are cleaned. If the condition of the watch allows, water resistance is also restored.
After completion, the watch undergoes a final inspection. A two-year warranty is granted on the work carried out.
TIME MEASUREMENT
After a full service or partial repair, the mechanical movement is checked for accuracy and adjusted if necessary. Acceptable tolerances depend on the calibre, construction and age of the movement.
For analysis, we use measuring systems such as the Witschi Chronoscope X1 in combination with the Micromat C. These allow automatic testing in multiple positions and provide precise data.
Final regulation is carried out by the watchmaker and requires experience as well as a deep understanding of the interaction between components.
External influences such as magnetisation may affect accuracy and are identified and corrected during testing.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
After completion of the work, the movement is tested under conditions close to real use. Automatic watches are placed on systems such as the ELMA Cyclomotion, simulating continuous wear.
Over several cycles, each watch is individually tested for its power reserve. The results are compared with the specifications of the calibre.
The measured values are carefully analysed and form the basis for the final evaluation.
A properly functioning movement is reflected in a stable rate and an accurate power reserve.

CRAFTSMANSHIP
We maintain an extensive stock of parts and components covering several decades. Nevertheless, certain parts may no longer be available.
In such cases, we rely on our craftsmanship to manufacture or adapt components with precision.
We use high-precision lathes and specialised tools that enable work on a very fine scale. Execution requires experience, technical understanding and attention to detail.
Watchmaking is a craft we consciously preserve and pass on, driven by a genuine passion for precision.

Our SPECIALITY in the service of our CUSTOMERS.
We can only be successful together with motivated and committed employees.
